Roll & Hill is committed to on-demand production, which allows for each piece to be customized to a client’s needs. At Roll & Hill’s headquarters in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, parts are assembled by hand, one lamp at a time.

Roll & Hill’s pieces draw from a rich materials palette that includes brass, bronze, leather, wood, hand-knotted rope and mouth-blown glass. Roll & Hill’s designers often pair historical elements with contemporary forms to create lights that feel familiar, yet totally new.

Roll & Hill is seeking a hands-on individual with art handling experience to pack finished goods in our Shipping department. We are looking for someone with the ability to work collaboratively within the Shipping department to ensure the area is orderly and that product is being shipped out in a timely manner. Responsibilities include: Packing finished fixtures of varying dimensions carefully for shipment, both domestically and internationally; Using various hand and power tools, including foam cutters and table saws, to assemble package inserts and crates; Inspecting every fixture for quality control purposes before it leaves the building; Writing detailed packing slips for every order and ensuring all information is correct; Identifying and calling-out errors and communicating with Shipping Lead and other departments, as necessary, to ensure all needed parts are included; Entering and printing shipping labels for outgoing boxes and containers. Qualifications: High school diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse setting; A background or interest in shipping and art handling is a plus; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Knowledge of quality control practices is a plus; Ability to work on your feet up to 90% of the day; Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs; May engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers.


Roll & Hill is seeking an Accounts Payable Coordinator to provide financial, administrative and clerical support in this role reporting to the Accounting Manager. Responsibilities include: Ensuring payments are completed and expenses controlled by processing, verifying and reconciling vendor invoices with accuracy; Matching purchase orders to invoices and entering invoices into the company’s ERP (NetSuite); Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances; Maintaining the company’s accounts payable filing system; Charging expenses to accounts and cost centers by examining invoices and recording entries; Paying vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal tax ID numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, resolving purchase order, contract, invoice or payment discrepancies and documentation; Ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos, issuing stop payments or purchase order amendments; Maintaining accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions; Verifying vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and creating new vendors in NetSuite, as needed; Providing accurate and effective document preparation and records management relative to the AP function in accordance with records retention policies and procedures; Ensuring that sales tax is not charged on eligible tax exempt purchases. Qualifications: a degree in Accounting and a minimum of 3 years of Accounts Payable experience; Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations; High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality; Willingness and flexibility to "roll up your sleeves"; Positive attitude, patience and calm demeanor in challenging situations; Polished communication skills, including a strong vocabulary and outstanding written communication skills; Demonstrated computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel; A proactive work ethic and an eye for detail.


Roll & Hill is seeking Buying Coordinators to fill newly created clerical roles with a focus on high-volume purchase order (“PO”) entry and managing those entries throughout the PO lifecycle. Responsibilities include: Reacting to inventory signal cards used in our visual inventory management system; Entering time-sensitive POs for raw and finished parts and issuing them to vendors; Communicating with vendors, via phone and email, regarding the timing of orders and deliveries, as well as quantity discrepancies and quality issues from deliveries; Updating, as needed, vendor information in our enterprise resource planning system (“ERP”); Communicating with other departments and vendors to ensure outstanding issues and questions are addressed; Maintaining, and suggesting improvements for, the company’s ERP system and our buying processes. Qualifications: a minimum of 10 years of purchasing, accounts payable or data entry experience; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in a high-volume administrative role; Critical thinking and the ability to multi-task; Willingness and flexibility to "roll up your sleeves".

Roll & Hill is seeking a Quality Control Engineer to develop and implement quality standards across all functions, including customer requirements, employee safety, productivity, efficiency, and lean methodology. Responsibilities include: Establishing QC protocols and improving existing processes for all stages of pre-Production through Logistics and After Sales; Supporting the development, management and continual improvement of key quality management system elements including, but not limited to, corrective & preventive actions, supplier quality assurance, APQP, PPAP, and change management; Leading the Material Review Board (“MRB”) evaluations and make determinations regarding scrapped parts and rework; Providing feedback to the supplier and Sourcing department on their MRB/rework percentages and repeating issues indicating defects /deficiencies through First Article Reports; Monitoring the performance of the suppliers through Supplier Corrective Action Reports (“SCAR”); Coordinating corrective action plans with suppliers related to part quality; Helping to lead in the development and amendment of control plans and FMEAs (Failure Mode Effects Analysis); Facilitating process and product change management, including leading the Process Change Review Board (PCRB) and supporting timely PPAP delivery; Identifying and suggesting alternate construction through the PPAP process; Managing QC for outside suppliers through factory inspections and external audits; Tracking and managing the internal quality rider throughout the manufacturing process; Partnering with vendors for Materials Safety Data Sheets and Materials Traceability certificates required for UL certifications; Performing QC checks during assembly of the fixtures and at the time of packing, referencing the BOMs, QC checklist, shipping instructions and necessary drawings to ensure the product is checked completely prior to shipping to the customer; Maintaining fire extinguishers and minimum OSHA requirement (First aid kit, eye washer, eye protective gears) for the workplace. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Quality, or the equivalent technical studies, plus 7-10 years of experience within the quality field in a manufacturing environment; Previous experience implementing/managing quality control systems within manufacturing environment (preferably lighting fixtures); Demonstrated track record of process improvement, including the ability to influence and coach others for results; Willingness and flexibility to "roll up your sleeves"; Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, other team leaders and top management, especially “non-technical” employees; Ability to read, understand and train to manufacturing drawings, technical procedures, and government regulations; Understands how to use different technologies used for testing (flicker meter, lumen measurement tool, etc.)
